Oh is there light here?
Is there white, bright, shining light?
So sharp and fine. Like a sharks tooth,
Pearly white, strong and mighty.
Toothy, polished, grinning white?
Shining from above, gleaming, dazzling.
Shattering, cool like marble, alabaster, chalk?
Oh so very bright, beacon, fire,
Glowing, not glimmering. Showing me the way.
Once I get an idea….these are photos that I have manipulated in layout and instagram. The spectra were caused by a peice of crystal I have hanging in the window.
The transitions are colours, shapes and facial ones.
I took the images further in each one, so they transition from something normal to something more obscure and unusual.
Use of colour makes them more interesting I think. I’m not the kind of artist that likes to write a long description next to their work to explain it so I will leave it at that.
Like Poseidons trident, copper, turquoise green,
You stand gaunt against the sky.
A foregone, forgotten, street light or gaslamp?
Still holding your shape,
like an ancient but modern sculpture,
battling the elements, salt spray, sea mists. ..
Atop a castle keep? No arch of stone,
barrier to tide.
To light the lonely home after one too many?
Find their mackerel way back from the fishmongers?
Spent a day out at sea and you, lighthouse, cast a gentle glow?
Find solace for the bereaved,
a tristing place away from the town?
Seafront, sentinel, what did you Sea?
I think I might do some poems about colours…..
Nice things are made of this….
Can be nasty too!
Yellowish green, orangey yellow, pale, dark, umber, sand….
Sunshine, egg yolk, khaki, cadmium, sulphur, icecream
Yellow lights up our life, heat in the desert, fire in dream.
Adorned, arisen , shone.
For the last few nights the Moon has been close to Venus ….so I took these on thursday night with my phone camera..
And each one showed up the Moon, but Venus was very faint, and the bright light on the canal warehouse was shining so bright that you can barely see the pixel of light that is Venus.
But then I like duplicating photos, and there was one with the moon glimmering through the branches of a willow tree so I decided to use the layout app to switch one photo through 180 degrees.
Much to my cheer I realised the glimmers look like eyes! The branches and leaves like hair, the roof looks like shoulders.. it could be a monstrous alien……
(I also see faces and animals in patterned wallpaper)
